Abstract
An actively mobile
Angiostrongylus cantonensis was found at the inferonasal subretinal space
of a Thai woman, who complained of severe headache and blurred vision. Headache
was relieved by intermittent lumbar puncture and the cerebrospinal fluid
study fluid study was proved to be eosinophilic meningitis. The subretinal
parasite was coagulated with Krypton red laser without removing from the
eye. The dead parasite was gradually reasorbed by phagocytic activity with
traces of minimal chorioretinal scar. The vision improved from 20/200 to
20/25 during the five-month follow up period.
