Abstract One year after Thomas Neuhann had developed the technique of simple, small, continuous and circular tear of anterior capsulotomy, called “Capsulorhexis”, the author had performed it in Chiangmai since 1985. For four years, he had done 587 cases. There are very nice capsulorhexis for 560 cases (95.4%). Only 8 cases (1.36%), the capsulorhexis are smaller than 5 mm. in diameter. And there are 4 cases (0.68%) that the capsulorhexis are larger than expected (>7 mm).

The authors failed to do capsulorhexis 15 cases (2.56%) and changed the method to Can-opener. The eight cases whose capsulorhexis is too small had developed corneal edema 7 cases (1.19%) and corned decompensation 1 case (0.17%).
