Ocular Manifestations in Takayasu’s Disease

ABSTRACT Takayasu’s disease in an idiopathic inflammatory arteriopathy involving the aorta and its main branches. Symptoms are related to vascular insufficiency of affected organs, especially the brain, eye and kidney. Major ocular complications consists of ischemic retinopathy, complicated cataract and neovascular glaucoma. The definite diagnosis can be established by aortic angiography or ultrasonography. We herein reported a case of Thai female patient with ocular ischemia due to this disease.
