ABSTRACT A 572 case of small incision cataract surgery with phacoemulsification technique were performed in the Priest Hospital since 1987. In 1991, from June 1991 to February 1992 the most update no suture technique were performed in 235 patients, these included 18 cases of no suture small incision ECCE, and 217 cases of no suture phacoemulsification. No wound leakage was found and also no flat anterior chamber was found postoperatively even though many kinds of no suture techniques were used.

The sutureless wound created no astigmatism so the patient had rapid visual recovery within a few day after operation. The wound that was not exceeded 4 mm. will be stronger than the conventional wound, the patient could have unlimited activity postoperatively. The patients were extremely satisfied with the sutureless cataract surgery and so were the doctors.
