Metallic foreign bodies were found in 55 eyes and 5 eyes were no metallic. The injury
mostly caused by metal chips during hammering and drilling. Surgical procedures for the
foreign body removal were : removal with external magnet via pars plana 1 case,

intraocular magnet and / or foreign body forceps 53 cases. The foreign body could not be
removed in 11 cases due to massive intraoperative bleeding or thick fibrous encapsulation.
Visual improvement found
in 30 cases, the visual implairment correlated to the severity of injury,
associated ocular structural damage and postoperative complications,
