ABSTRACT Ten persons underwent excimer laser central photorefractive Keratectomy for the myopic correction. Fluctuation of refractive and keratometric parameters was noted during the period of epithelial healing and remodeling.

At the 8th postoperative week, all eyes had trace to mild corneal haze on biomicroscopic evaluation and 9 eyes had the best corrected visual acuity of 20/30 or better. The last case with high myopia (-13.50 D) had the best corrected acuity of 20/40 Overall, the group demonstrated that myopic excimer laser central photorefractive keratectomy is consistent with good wound healing, insignificant corneal scar and excellent visual acuity.
