ABSTRACT Study
the efficacy of ground-in prism in treatment of small angle deviation (pre
and post operation), eighty-nine patients were the subjects of this study,
thirty-four were esotropic pa tients and fifty-five were exotropic. The age
of patients ranged from five to forty-four years old. The "good result"
was determined by having binocular single vision in some degree and decrease
in amount of deviation angle.
The study has shown no
differences between the two groups of patients. The group of exotropic patiefits
has good result up to 83.64% and 73.53% that of esotropic group. The treatment
period of the two groups was similar but different in the consecutive patients
which consecutive esotropia need an average of 20 months and 31 months for
the consecutive exotropia.
Also in the abnormal retinal
correspondence (ARC) the exotropia had more percentage of curable than esotropia.
