ABSTRACT Twenty seven cases of hydroxyapatite orbital implantation were performed. There were 22 cases of primary implantation and 5 cases of secondary implantation. The primary im plantation consisted of 11 cases of enucleation and 11 cases of evisceration. Every implant was wrapped with either autogenous or homologous sclera. There were no serious complication during operation and post-operation. Every case was fitted with custom made or modified custom fitted ocular prosthesis. Bone scan of the orbit was done in eleven cases. The cases with completed vascu larization were pegged. The motility was quite good in the horizontal direction even in secondary implantation, but movement in vertical direction was rather limited. The motility was improved in the patients who have peg coupling with the prosthesis.
