ABSTRACT A case of 32
year-old Thai woman presented with blurred vision in the right eye was reported.
Ocular examinations revealed ocular melanocytosis in the right eye associated
with an ipsilateral choroidal melanoma. Despite multiple treatments with
laser photo-coagulation, tumor growth was documented and the eye was enucleated.
The authors demonstrated the relationship of ocular melanocytosis and uveal
melanomas in nonwhite patients and also emphasized the possibility of Thai
patients with ocular or oculodernal melanocytosis to develop uveal melanomas.
Regular follow-up examinations for early detection of uveal melanomas in
such patients were recommended.
